You're not alone

As a sysadmin for the OpenDev Collaboratory (opendev.org), I can say
you're definitely not alone in avoiding any ties to GitHub. We run
our services because we believe that free/libre open source projects
relying on proprietary software for their own development is risky
and even a bit hypocritical. While we're not in a position to absorb
a flood of refugees from GitHub, we're happy to serve as an example
that even very large communities can be sustained entirely on open
systems, particularly if they work together to help maintain and
improve the tools on which they rely.
Some of the projects we host do choose to add custom CI jobs which
forward copies of their commits and tags to mirrors on GitHub, but
our services are not directly integrated with GitHub in any way and
we're adamant about keeping them that way.
