Hello, anyone who is just joining this new, yet old-fashioned, discussion
list!

I'll introduce myself here - I'm Liz, and I live in San Francisco. I''m a
powerchair user and hacker/makerspace person, have a background in open
source software development, and am also working in various nonprofit
roles.

With one hand, I work for Borealis Philanthropy on the DIFxTech fund as a
program manager. With another, I'm gearing up my new nonprofit, Grassroots
Open Assistive Tech (GOAT). And with the third hand (?), working at
Mozilla, on Firefox and parts of the developer toolchain, in program and
release management.

This week for GOAT I'm prototyping wheelchair repair kits and a maintenance
zine; scanning and cataloguing books about DIY assistive tech from a huge
treasure trove of donated material, to put onto the Internet Archive, and
writing blog posts with some interviews of inventors, builders, and
designers of free and open source assistive tech.

I'm happy to meet you all, and hope this space can be one for sharing ideas
and discussions.

- Liz
